The # 613 COMMANDMENTS
There is a ancient teaching in the Oral tradition that the Bible is learned and explained by 32 methods. The 29th of these 32 methods is called gematria (numerology). It is taught that the numerical values of the Hebrew letters were given to Moses at Mount Sinai. Sometimes in finding the numerical equivalent of a word, we increase the total by one. This ancient practice in gematria is called adding a collel. This means to include the value of 1 for the word or phrase itself. The Hebrew letters and their value is as follows :

According to a reckoning ,based according the Rambam there are 77 positive and 194 negative commandments that can be observed today, of which there are 26 commands that apply only within the Land of Israel. Furthermore, there are some time-related commandments from which women are exempt (examples include shofar, sukkah, lulav, tzitzit and tefillin). Some depend on the special status of a person in Judaism (such as kohanim), while others apply only to men or only to women.
Judaism is a quest for souls to be over whelmed by passion for The Divine and transcendent. You cant be impatient and must do “the work”. Crave for more direct access to Holiness and you will be driven by a Holy restlessness a mystic impulse. Many of of us do not experience this craving very much, especially in our days. But we must be aware of its existence. The Kabbalah affords a sacred place for the quest into the Supernatural. The chapter of Ezekiel that deals with “Maaseh merkavah”, the mystical “Divine chariot. There is good reason for us to probe deeply and carefully into its mystical secrets, into the upper realms, and catch a glimpse and the secrets of the Torah. The blessing of the Almighty is the life of Torah and mitzvot (commandments) introduce it into our soul some times quietly, imperceptibly, but always developing, growing, rising, maturing, and elevating.. Add insight to insight, mitzvah to mitzvah, good deed to good deed, kindness to kindness, our very being begins to expand, our yearning increases, and the curtain between the natural and the supernatural parts ever so slightly, affording us illuminating insights into the realms beyond and within, giving us an awareness of the transcendent, of the Supernatural, and increasing our love for God Himself ……… Then you will come to the point when there will emerge from the mysterious recesses of your soul unconscious into full awareness and begin to transform your self and all around you. The joining of Abba and Ima and the joining of Z”A and Nukvah. These correspond to the 2 types of commandments positive commandments and negative commandments . Our sages point out that the numerical value of שמו ( Name) plus that of the letters yud-hei equals 365, while the numerical value of זכור (Remembrance) plus that of the two letters vav-hei equals 248. Thus the Negative commandments (prohibitions of the Torah) are dependent upon the two letters yud-hei, which indicate Abba and Ima, and the Positive commandments are dependent upon the two letters vav-hei, which indicate Z”A and Nukvah by observing the negative commandments, the individual causes “ Name,” which is equivalent to the backs of Abba and Ima, to join with their fronts, which are indicated by the letters yud-hei. The total of this union is 365. When a person performs a positive commandment, he causes the unification of Z”A and Nukva, which are indicated by the vav-hei of the Name יהו”ה. The numerical value of the vav-hei is added to “ Remembrance” equals 248 positive commandments. Here is a list of all 613 commandments found in the Torah. Them there is much detail involved so one must go to a more detailed source such as the “shulchan Auruch” or the “mishna Torah” to understand the depth. Set forth here is the advice from God on how one can make the most out of one’s life in all situations. With each command is shown the verse which is its Biblical source.
A common phrase of our sages describing some Torah laws is “Halacha given to Moshe at Sinai” according to the Rambam this is used by the sages when referring to Torah laws when nothing has been forgotten from them and there is no disagreement about them. In truth all the laws were given to Moses at Sinai. Also many times the “Gemara”, when it tries to bring proof for a specific ruling and can not, the “Gemora” concludes that the ruling is Halacha given to Moshe at Sinai. We See from this and understand that the rabbis got the law from their rabbis and so on up to the Sinai Revelation. We see this by Rabbi Yochanan when he said the use of a willow on Succot was a “Halacha given to Moshe at Sinai”! The sages had forgot it and once again established it.”
Chyim Vital writes in “Shary Kidushah” that if a person lacks a certain commandment the corresponding organ of his Holy soul starves to death and departs and the spirit of impurity then enters it
