ROSH HASHANNAH Bs”d
It is on this day that Adam was created, Avraham and Yaakov were born and died, Sarah Rachel and Channah were visited by GOD delivering them from their bareness and conceived, Yosef went forth from prison. It is also on this day the slavery ended in Egypt. These are all aspects of redemption and this day always has the potential to make this year a time of personal and national redemption for Jewish people ultimately with the coming of machiach may he come quickly in our days. As on Rosh Hashanah the world’s future rests truely on your shoulders. Through your actions last year and more specifically the day it self will the world be given to the growth of evil ( war, pain, death, holocaust etc….) or will it be a year of blessing. The answer is according to our actions and the mercy of GOD. Rosh Hashanah literally means “head of the year”, as the head directs one’s limbs Rosh Hashanah directs the rest of the days of the year. That is why the month of “Tishri” is Libra, the scales. The world stands in the balance to judgment. In the Tanya its explained ” each year there descends and radiates a new and renewed light which has not been revealed before, this light conceals itself its manifestation depends on the actions of those below, Rosh Hashanah is a time of spiritual renewal”. This day you are invited to take part in a meeting of the “joint chief of staff” on an intergalactic scale. The only thing that limits our participation in a positive way is our separation from true knowledge of the creator’s ways of administration, that yields the power called true faith. There are 10 revealed names of Go-d in the Torah and there are 10 times shofar blasts that that are sounded. These names correspond to the shofar blasts., which correspond to the 10 utterances emanations from which the world is created continually and nourished. Through the meditation, listening to these sounds is one way Go-d has given us to participate in this judgment process. The torah is The “blue print for creation”, it was given at Mount Sinai with a never ceasing shofar blast. Rabbi yitzchak Arama teaches “from the shofar we can draw out freedom for physical and eternal life”. The zohar teaches “by the shofar joy is given and GOD has mercy on the world “. With the prayer of Rosh Hashanah our mind and preparations are the only limits.
The Go-d has also told us wonderful powers are revealed to the world by eating lamb, pumpkin, fenugreek, leeks, beets, carrots, longbeans, white beans, black eyed peas, pomegranate, apples, fish head and dates on Roshhashanah inspiring abundance and growth as stated in tractate Kritot.
In the midrash R. Tihilifa states ” on Rosh Hashanah we are made before the Holy one as new beings “
This is the great day of judgment and we have a big job to do. This is a big year there is alot in the balence all can see this.We must change the judgment to one of mercy by our love of each other and GOD by teshuva (returning to GOD) according to his commandments actively on the day of Rosh Hashanah and the commitments we make in our hearts to manifest more of our love for GOD through his commandments in the coming Year. As GOD searches the Hearts and knows our thoughts !.
Blessings of growth awareness and peace to you, the world and all Yisrael in the coming year
Rosh Hashashanah SECRETS
The main thing of the judgment of Rosh Hashanah is to nullify the power of the judgment from the first 3 sefirot of the left of Binna (the strict letter of the law). As by this there is none who can stand. 2 corrections made by blowing of the Shofar include, first there is made the unification of the right and the left of Bina. The Tekia brings forth energy of the right. Shavarim brings the left. This causes the going forth of rachamim the central pilar from Bina. The 2nd tikun is the rachamim of bina being drawn into Z’a by the sound of the truah. This nullifies judgments against the Ruach. Bringing out manifesting this nullification is helped by arrousing strong teshuva against one inequities (lack of kavanah in Divine service), and sin. If one on Rosh Hashanah does not begin to arrouse strong teshuva Hashem then begins to seal writings concerning him. Then the will that Hashem wanted to reveal for that man is withheld and hidden away from him. Then it will even require a greater effort to arrouse. On Rosh HaShanah judgments of duchrah (masculine) cause the restriction of inspiration from above because of one’s sins and inequity. They try to prevent one from arousing his greatest possible Teshuva . But the blowing of the Shofar mitigates the judgment that comes to the right pillar of Chesed of Nakavah. The source of the giving of the Nefesh from being blocked by judments. The judgments from above are nullified as the Shofar causes Hashem to look at these judgments. The fulfillment of the commandments by all Yisrael in Teshuva as the Torah is a “fiery law” nullifies these judgements from above. The Tekia sound arrouses shattering of klipot nourishing of the right pillar, by this is strengthened Emuna. The Shavarim shatter klipot attacking the left pillar, this protects from bad dreams which are corrupt judgment. The Trua shatter klipot nourishing from the middle pillar. This causes new inspiration and perception to flash forth. The shofar sounds then allows for the trancendance of Rachamim (Mercy). On Rosh HaShanah it is like there is eminated the 4th day of creation when אלהי”ם formed 2 great lights. It is the time of completion of the first 3 sefirot of Binna. It was on the 4th day that physical creation was brought forth. It is from the first 3 sefirot of Binna that primary will is brought into revelation in the renewal of the mochin (brain) of Bina for the coming. Year.
But if the tikun of Rosh HaShanah is the mochin (brain) of Binna why is Rosh HaShanah called “Yom Zichoron” Since the Zohar explains that zachor is Chuchmah ?
Rabbi Nachman explains that renewal is the root of memory. By our renewal of our relationship to Hashem in teshuvah there is revelation of the root of memory called Chuchmah .
On Rosh HaShanah the structure of Nakavah is renewed for the whole year. One’s vessel to receive and act upon the will of Hashem is shaped at this time. This is determined by looking at what a man has done all year and his teshuvah on Rosh HaShanah this will shape his 10 days of teshuvah .
On this day it is possible to mitigate great judgments with miraculous power as Sarah, Rachel and Chanah were all barren (physically incapable of having children) they all conceived on Rosh HaShanah. On Rosh HaShanah Yosef was freed from prison and the forced labor of the slavery of Egypt ceased. In Gemore Rosh HaShanah, Rosh HaShanah is described as “a night of watching”. So let us give Hashem some thing really good to look at. Do the best that you can, and Hashem will do the rest. May it be the will of Hashem that this will be a year of personal and national redemption.

“With him who is not here with us this day” -This means you
September 11, 2009, 12:35 pm | Edit this
The parsha begins ”You stand this day all of you before Yhv”h Elohech”a”. The sages say the day referred to here is Rosh Hashanah.
As every word of the Torah is precious. One can find so much meaning to its voice. Its written ” Not with you alone will I make this covenant and this oath; But with him who stands here with us this day before Yhv”h Elohech”a and also with him who is not here with us this day” (29:13-14). The Torah is Eternal as hinted by ” also with him who is not here with us this day”.
Its further written ”you will enter into covenant with Yhv”h Elohech”a, and into his oath, which the Yhv”h Elohech”a makes with you this day. That He may establish you today for a Nation to himself ”. This is what it is to be the Nation of Israel. The nation of GOD. Who here makes a covenant with us. Concerning this Covenant a few verses later GOD reminds us ”It should come to pass, when one hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, Yhv”h will not spare him (18-20). But now standing in front of the Jewish people are noble men but they are not educated in Divine wisdom-Torah Knowledge. Many even naked of knowledge of Torah law. Only with knowledge is one given free choice. One would not know that the creator has forbidden growing two different types of plants close together unless one read this in the Torah. Then we know what to do. Without this knowledge there is not free choice. Without knowledge of the Torah one ends up with a different kind of life, so the generations changed. Most of us have heard stories of our religious ancestors. But a lack of Torah knowledge can rip away faith in the Divine God, the giver of the Law from generations. Creating a Jewish culture with different values not necessarily focused concerning piety, holiness, or respect for Torah, which is their heritage. Jewish youths found delight and closeness to God meditating on the Midrash (Ancient Jewish spiritual texts). When the House of learning Torah was the community gathering place. Today instead they gather at basketball games and parties. Yet the mitzvoth are not profane or ordinary, but they are Holy purifying and sanctifying the Jewish people revealing Godliness and also in all worlds. In a generation where every one wants to be part of the fad and fashion and no one wants to be left out. It is difficult to live as an individual with the uniqueness and distinctiveness of the one God and one people. Thus there is intermarriage, indifference and assimilation. Yet there are those that see GOD as omnipotent and believe it is under his laws, values and concepts we must love. Others can be found among our people that do not believe in a God that is effected by man. It will be between these and those that the future of the Jewish people and The State of Israel will be decided. Will Jerusalem be a reflection of the Heavens of Holiness; this cannot be accomplished by secularism alone, nor by impassionate religion resulting from spiritual starvation, creating a comfortable convenient Judaism. Which is something like playing ” Charade ”. The parsha concludes saying ” love Yhv”h Elohech”a, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may cleave to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days; that you may live in the land which Yhv”h swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
So let us all , as in this parsa accept upon ourselves the kingship of GOD this RoshHashanah, and become the nation of Israel spoken of here in our parsha so that we may see the words in our parsha fulfilled ”. And Yhv”h Elohech”a will put all these curses upon your enemies, and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.” (7:30) With the arrival of our righteous Mashiach quickly in our days.

YOU WANT PROTECTION-GOD CONTROLS ALL EVEN EVIL

Filed under: Beney Elohim, FREE WILL, jOB, Rosh Hashanah, sons of god, Supernal court, Zohar
“And YHV”H said to Moses, ‘Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart…’” (Exudus 10:1).
Sometimes God takes away our free will.
Rabbi Yehuda opened the discussion, saying: “Happy is the people that know the joyful note; they shall walk, YHV”H, in the light of Your countenance” (Tehilim 89:16). How much should people walk in the ways of the Holy One, blessed be He, and observe the commandments of the Torah in order to merit the World to Come, and that they may be delivered from all Accusers above and below. For as there are Accusers in the world below, so there are Adversaries above whose functions are to ACCUSE people.
These Accusers are angels of judgment. They bring judgment so to direct us back to the right path and a means of refining us from evil we have done.
Those who observe the commandments of the Torah and walk the right path in fear of their Master, good Advocates are situated above them, as is written: “If there be an angel over him, an interpreter, one among a thousand…then He is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom’” (Job 33:23). Therefore, fortunate is he who observes the commandments of the Torah.
THIS IS REFERRING TO IN THE OTHER WORLD
Rabbi Chiya said to him: If so, why is it necessary to have an angel to intercede for the person, seeing it is written: “For YHV”H will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught” (Proverbs 3:26). “YHV”H will guard you from all evil” (Psalms 121:7). For the Holy One, blessed be He, sees everything that a man does in the world, both good and evil. And so He says, “‘Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?’ Says YHV”H” (Jeremiah 23:24).
So many times are we saved from calamity by these angels, and don’t know. From God nothing is hidden. From us a lot is concealed, so to preserve free will.
Rabbi Yehuda said: Certainly it is so. But it is written: “And touch his bone and his flesh” (Job 2:5), and “although you did move me against him to destroy him without cause” (Ibid. 3). This shows that permission was granted to the Other Side to accuse in worldly matters, and they should be given into his hands. All these things are to stay concealed before the Holy One, blessed be He, and you have no right to investigate them, because they are the statutes of the Holy One, blessed be He. Humans are not permitted to be particular about them except for those truly Righteous who know the secrets of the Torah and go in the way of wisdom to know these hidden things in the Torah.
Why “bad things” happen is not always easy to understand.
“Now there was a day…and the Adversary came also among them”
Rabbi Elazar begins by talking about Rosh Hashanah, Judgment Day.
This is the day the Bible refers to by “In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a day of remembrance of blowing of horns, a holy gathering.”
He says there are messengers who are appointed by God to watch over the actions of people, and at Judgment Day these messengers accuse those whose actions were improper. When people sin, they weaken ELOHE”M (manifestation of God in nature), but when they perform good actions they give might and power to Him. Rabbi Elazar speaks about “The Adversary also came among them,” and recounts the conversation between God and Satan wherein God distracts Satan from his accusation of Yisrael, by asking him if he has considered His servant Job. Satan always requests justice from God. We read that Job was judged as he had judged Yisrael, since he had been one of Pharaoh’s advisors. The Satan was given permission to afflict Job’s bones and flesh, but not to kill him. We are told that God does not want to destroy the whole world on the word of the Accuser, since the Accuser’s desire is always to destroy. The discussion turns to “The end of all flesh” which is the Satan, and “the end of days” that is in Holiness. On Rosh Hashanah those who come before God with repentance deserve to be written on the side of Life; those who come with evil actions are written on the Other Side, which is Death. We are told then of the balance, where the world is half Life and half Death, and the actions of one Righteous man or one wicked person can tip the balance so that all the world is written to Life or Death. A person should not be set apart by himself because he can be noticed and accused from above. Job, who was set apart, and who was tested severely, did not even then join the Other Side. He should, however, have given a part of his sacrifice to the Other Side because then the Other Side would have removed himself from the Temple. The conclusion of this section is that God judged Job, giving him first good and then bad and then good again; thus it is proper for a person to know good and bad, and to return himself to good.
Rabbi Elazar opened the discussion, saying: “Now there was a day when the sons of Elohim came to present themselves before God, and the Adversary came also among them” (Job 1:6). “Now there was a day,” refers to Rosh Hashanah, the day that the Holy One, blessed be He, rises to judge the world. Similarly, “And it happened one day, that he came there” (II Kings 4:11). That day was the holy day of Rosh Hashanah.
“And the sons of Elohim came.” These are the appointed ministers whose mission in the world is to observe the actions of people. “To present themselves before God,” as is written: “And all the hosts of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on His left” (I Kings 22:19). But in the passage: “To present themselves before God,” “The Adversary also came among them.” The word “also” adds to THE CHILDREN OF ELOHIM, because they all came to accuse, and THE ADVERSARY also joined them because he was the greatest slanderer of them all. As soon as the Holy One, blessed be He, saw that they all came to accuse, immediately, “And YHV”H said to the Adversary, ‘From where do you come?’” (Job 1:7) Did not the Holy One, blessed be He, know where he came from: Rather only to allow the matter to the wishes of the Satan, MEANING THAT WITH THESE WORDS HE GAVE HIM AN OPENING TO ACCUSE AS HE WISHES.
“YHV”H said to the Adversary, ‘Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on earth…’” (Ibid. 8).
The Satan works for God being the Evil inclination in man, THE ADVERSARY, Accuser and prosecuter of the supernal court. Only with permission from God can he do anything. As we see here with Job “YHV”H said to the Adversary, ‘Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on earth…’” (Ibid. 8).
THE OWNER’S MANUAL
AND A BETTER LIFE
WHAT WILL GOD DO, WITH ME ?
The first thing is you need to know, recognize and see is that you are not alone, ever. If one does not believe and know that God manifests in his own life and its providence. Everything that happens inside and outside of us is brimming with spiritual meaning, points of connection with Spirit. You need to find holiness in everyday life. By this also one may experience the mystical moment. One may see it or hear it, grasp it. Yet it has no form and is unseen and unheard being elusive and evasive.

With just a few days until Rosh Hashanah, b”H, it is important to keep this in mind.
This letter was sent by the Gaon, R. Eliyahu of Vilna, zt’l while traveling to the holy land of Eretz Yisrael, to encourage and instruct his family in the ways of Mussar. T his classic letter was written in a manner which would bring fire into the hearts of his family in the ways of fearing and carrying out the word of GOD)
I ask you to refrain from becoming sad, as you truly promised me, and not to worry (or: as Mother promised me – besides, what is there to worry about?). It is common for men to leave their wives in order to travel and wander destitute for years to make money,. But I, thank G-d, am traveling to the Holy Land – which everyone longs to see – the Jewish people’s Most Beloved (or: GOD’s Most Beloved, desired by all heavenly and earthly beings). And I am traveling in peace, thank G-d. You are also aware that I have left behind my children, for whom my heart moans, and all my precious books, and I am as a stranger in a foreign country. Yes, I have left everything behind…
It is well-known that this world is all emptiness, that every amusement is worthless, and woe is anyone who pursues vanity, which is worthless. And don’t envy the rich, for “riches are hoarded by their owner to his misfortune” (Koheles 5:12); “As he had come from his mother’s womb, naked will he return…exactly as he came he must depart, and what did he gain by toiling for the wind?” (ib. 14, 15); “Even if he should live a thousand years twice over, but find no contentment – do not all go to the same place?” (Ib. 6:6); “Even if man lives many years, let him rejoice in all of them, but let him remember that the days of darkness will be many. All that comes is futility” (ib. 11:8); “And of joy, what does it accomplish?” (ib. 2:2). Tomorrow you will cry for having laughed today. Do not lust after imaginary honor, for it is worthless, and time is a traitor: it is like scales, which lift the light and lower the weighty. The world is like one who drinks salty water: he thinks it quenches his thirst, but it only makes him thirstier. No one leaves the world with even half his cravings fulfilled (Koheles Rabbah 1). “What profit does one have from all his toils under the sun” (Koheles 1:3)? Remember our predecessors, all of whose love, desire and joy have ceased to exist (see Koheles 9:6), but who are being judged severely for them. And of what benefit is gratification to man – whose end is dust, maggots and worms, as he is bound to die – when all his enjoyments turn to bitterness in the grave? And what is this world, whose days are full of anguish and pain which prevent one from sleeping? Neither is death a mikveh. Man will be judged for everything he says; even the slightest expression is not overlooked. Therefore I exhort you to train yourself to sit as much as possible, because the sin of the tongue is the most severe, as our Sages said (Tosefta Pe’ah 1): “These are the things…and lashon hara is equivalent to them all.” I don’t have to elaborate on this most serious sin of all. “All man’s toil is for his mouth” (Koheles 6:7). Our Sages said that all man’s mitzvos and teachings are not enough to counterbalance what comes out of his mouth. “What should be a man’s pursuit in this world? He should be silent” (Chullin 89a). One must seal his lips as tight as two millstones. Idle words are like powerful weapons which can reach from one end of the world to the other. Now this is true concerning mere excessive speech. Where forbidden speech is concerned – e.g. lashon hara, mocking, swearing, vowing, fighting and cursing – especially in the synagogue, and on Shabbos and Yom Tov – for every utterance of this type it is impossible to imagine the pain and suffering one will receive (Zohar)! No word is lost; everything is recorded. Winged beings attach themselves to everyone, recording all they say. “For a bird of the skies may carry the sound, and some winged creature may tell the matter” (Koheles 10:20). “Let not your mouth cause your flesh to sin, and do not tell the messenger that it was an error. Why should G-d be angered by your speech and destroy the work of your hands?” (ib. 5:5).
Purchase all your needs through a messenger, even if this would cost two or three times as much. “Is there a limit to what G-d can provide?” (Bamidbar 11:23). GOD feeds all creatures, from the greatest to the smallest (see A.Z. 3), and provides all their needs. And on Shabbos and Yom Tov do not speak at all about things that are not urgent, and be brief even with what is important, for the Shabbos is very holy and our Sages barely permitted the exchange of greetings on it (Yerushalmi Shabbos, and Tosfos Shab. 113). See how strict they were concerning even a single expression! Continue to give great honor to the Shabbos as when I was there. Do not cut back [on your Shabbos] expenses, since “Man’s entire sustenance [for the year is fixed for him from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur,] except [the expenditure for Sabbaths and Festivals,] etc.” (Beitzah 16a). I also implore and plead with you to guide your daughters very carefully to refrain from cursing, swearing, lying and fighting. Rather, everything they do should be done peacefully, with love, affection and gentleness.
I have left behind several Yiddish books on Mussar (morality). See that [the children] read them constantly, especially on the Holy Shabbos, when Mussar is the only thing they should read. Always instruct them according to Mussar books. Don’t hold back from hitting them when they curse, swear or lie. Don’t be lenient with them, because parents will be punished severely for the corruption of their children, G-d forbid. And even if one constantly teaches them Mussar, but they do not follow it, one’s sorrow and shame in the World-to-Come will be great. As it is written (Vayikra 21:9), “She defiles her father” – [in such a case] the son of a righteous man is called “the son of a wicked man” (Sanhedrin 52a). Similarly in other matters, lashon hara and gossip.
Their eating and drinking should always be preceded and followed by the appropriate blessings. They must be careful to say the blessings, Birkas Hamazon and Krias Shema with proper kavanah (intent). Most importantly, they must not wander outside the home and must obey and respect you and my mother and all their elders. They also need to observe all that is written in the Mussar books.
Raise your own children as well correctly and sensitively, and pay their tutor well, for “Man’s entire sustenance for the year is fixed for him from Rosh Hashanah…except TiShReY (Talmud, Shabbos, Rosh Chodesh and Yom Tov – Beitzah 16a). I have also left books for them. For GOD’s sake, guide them well and gently. Take care of their health and make sure that they always have enough to eat. First have them learn the entire Chumash, seeing to it that they know it almost by heart. The learning must be done without undue pressure, rather gently, because it is best absorbed when one is relaxed. Give them coins, etc., as a reward. Always focus your attention on these matters and not on others, because all else is trivial. For man can salvage nothing from his labor to take with him (see Koheles 5:14), except two white garments (shrouds). Also (Tehillim 49), “A man will not redeem his brother…Fear not when a man grows rich…For when he dies, he shall carry nothing away….” Don’t say, “I will leave a portion for my children” – who will tell you in the grave? The children of man are like grasses of the field, some blossom and some fade (Eruvin 54a). Everyone is born under his constellation and Divine Providence. They are glad when he dies and he goes into the nether world. [At his death] Resh Lakish left his children a kav of saffron, and he applied to himself the verse (Tehillim 49:11), “…and they leave their wealth to others” (Gittin 47a). Woe to all who plan on leaving [wealth] to their children! The only reward from sons and daughters is through their Torah and good deeds. Their sustenance is fixed for them. It is also known that women earn merit by making their children learn Torah, etc. (Berachos 17a). And our Sages said (Tanna D’Vei Eliyahu Rabba 9): “The only proper wife is one that does her husband’s will.”
Of course, I am writing you words of the Living G-d. Therefore, I am certain that you will follow all that I have written. Nevertheless, I wish to strongly advise you not to deviate from anything that I have written. Read this letter every week, especially on Shabbos before and during the meal, in order to prevent idle talk and, even worse, lashon hara and the like, G-d forbid. I reiterate my request that you guide your sons and daughters with words of kindness and Mussar that will find a place in their heart. This is true especially if we merit to arrive in Eretz Yisrael, because one must be extra cautious to follow GOD’s ways there. Therefore, train them well, since one must work hard on one’s speech and character traits, and only through good habits can we control ourselves (Shaarey Teshuvah). All beginnings are hard (Mechilta Yisro). But afterwards, one is worthy of praise (Mishlei 20:14). For the wicked person knows that he is taking the wrong path, but it is hard for him to change. But this is man’s main task, not to go after his desires, but (Tehillim 32:9) “to restrain himself with a bit and bridle when he is being groomed.” Man must deprive himself until he dies, not by fasting or asceticism, but by controlling his mouth and desires. This is teshuvah. And this is the whole reward of the World-to-Come, as it is written (Mishlei 6:23): “For the commandment is a lamp and the Torah is a light” – but “the way to life is the rebuke that disciplines.” And that is worth more than any amount of fasting and self-affliction! For every second that man controls his tongue, he merits some of the “hidden [by GOD for the righteous] light,” something which no angel or [other] creature can imagine (Midrash). And it is stated (Tehillim 34:13,14): “Who is the man who desires life, and loves days that he may see good? Guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceitfully.” This will atone for any sin and save one from Gehinnom, as we find (Mishlei 21:23): “He who guards his mouth [from too much eating and drinking] and tongue [from idle words] guards himself from trouble.” Also (ib. 18:21): “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Woe to one who gives away his life for one word! Then what advantage is there to one who has a tongue (see Koheles 10:11)? And, “Everything has a cure except, etc.” It is most important to refrain from speaking words of praise about anyone. How much more so does this apply to speaking ill of anyone! Why must one speak about others? “The mouth that speaks strangely is a deep pit; he who angers GOD falls into it” (Mishlei 22:14).
Concerning solitude, the main thing is to remain at home. Even your visit to the synagogue should be very short. In fact, it is better to pray at home, for it is impossible to be spared from jealousy or from hearing idle talk or lashon hara in the synagogue. And one receives punishment for this, as we find (Shabbos 33a), “Also one who hears and is silent….” This is even the more so on Shabbos and Yom Tov when they gather to talk – It is then better that you don’t pray at all. Refrain also from going to the cemetery (especially women), as it leads to all kinds of sorrow and sin. It is also advisable that your daughter not go to the synagogue, because she’ll see beautiful clothes there, become jealous and talk about it at home. This will lead to lashon hara, etc. She should rather cling to Mussar and not become jealous of anything in this world, where everything is vanity and illusions, appearing and disappearing overnight (Yonah 4:10). “Though he grows as high as the sky, his head reaching the clouds, he perishes forever…” (Iyov 20:6,7). “For property does not last forever, or a crown for all generations” (Mishlei 27:24). And even while it exists it is worthless, loathsome and disdained by any sensible person. Woe to him who is impressed by it. Envy only the fear of GOD (ib. 23:17). She should not say, “How can I earn a share in the World-to-Come? – I can’t do it!” For we have learned (Berachos 17a): “One may do much or one may do little, provided he directs his heart to heaven.” For the sake of GOD, give a fifth of all earnings to charity. Do not give less, as I have already warned you, because that causes the transgression of several positive and negative mitzvahs every minute! It also implies a rejection of the Holy Torah, G-d forbid.
But the main way to merit Olam Haba is by guarding one’s tongue. That is worth more than all the Torah and good deeds. This is the meaning of (Isaiah 32:9) “tranquil women” (Berachos 17a), because the mouth is the holiest of the holy. Among my books is a copy of Mishlei with Yiddish translation. For the sake of GOD, have them read it daily. It is better than any Mussar book. They should also read Koheles a lot, because it points out the vanity of this world, and other books as well. But G-d forbid that reading should be the objective! Reading Mussar alone does not necessarily move one to act differently. Going out into the world without a good understanding of it defeats the whole purpose. It is like one sows without having plowed; the wind and birds will carry the seeds away, because they aren’t closed off and protected. So is he who merely reads Mussar like him who plants without a fence; pigs will eat and trample on everything. Some plant on stone. This is comparable to a heart of stone which cannot be penetrated unless it is struck until it breaks open. That’s why I wrote you to hit our children if they don’t obey you. “Train a lad in the way he ought to go” (Mishlei 22:6). This is an important principle of education.
I also wish to appeal to my son-in-law to adhere to all the above. Read to the children as I have stated and learn for the sake of Heaven. Become well-versed in it for GOD’s sake. Don’t pay attention to those who say that it is unnecessary for the child, G-d forbid. To the contrary, “Train a lad, etc.” It is easier to remove the skin of a nut before it hardens into a shell.
Most importantly, it is through such study that one merits everything, as our Sages stated (Avos 6:1): “Rabbi Meir said, ‘Whoever studies Torah for its own sake merits many things; furthermore, the whole world is worthwhile for his sake alone.'” You should study Tractate Avos, especially Avos D’Rabbi Noson, and Tractate Derech Eretz, since Derech Eretz (good manners) are more important than Torah study. Honor both your mother-in-law and your children’s great grandmother. Also always treat everyone with politeness and respect..
My Dear Mother, I know that you don’t need my advice, because you are very modest. Nevertheless, I wish someone would read this letter to you, for it consists of words of the Living G-d. I beg of you not to grieve over me, as you promised me, and G-d willing, if I merit to arrive at the gate of heaven in the holy city of Jerusalem, I will pray for you as I promised. And if we deserve it, we shall all be reunited, please G-d. I also ask my wife to honor my mother, as the Torah dictates, especially since she is a widow to whom it is a grave sin to cause even the slightest pain. I also ask you, Mother, to please cause peace to reign between you, and that you should strive to bring happiness one to the other. This is a great mitzvah incumbent upon everyone, as we find (Reishis Chochmah): “When man is judged, he will be asked,”Did you make your fellow a king over you?” We see that one must gladly enhance his friend’s honor. In fact, the main goal of the Torah is to bring joy to man. Even if one of you should happen to act improperly, excuse each other and live in peace for GOD’s name. I also ask of you, Mother, to supervise and guide my children with gentle words, so that they will accept them. I instruct my sons and daughters to honor her, and not to fight among themselves at all, but to settle everything peacefully. May the Master of Peace grant you, my sons, daughters, sons-in-law, brother and all Israel life and peace.
Your loving Eliyahu the son of R. Shlomo Zalman ztz”l

“The secret things belong to the YHV”H our GOd, but those things which are revealed belong to us, and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
(29 : 28 Deut. )
other words, the condition for control of information is that it is revealed and clear to all those obliged in its doing.
“For this commandment which I commandment you this day, it is not hidden from you, neither is it far off. It is not in the heaven that you should say: who shall go up for us to the heaven, and take it unto us and let us hear that we may do it?”
These verses above truly reveal the depth of this important teaching :
“It is taught; And on that day Rabbi Eliezar answered many questions and they did not agree with his opinion. He said to them: If the law is like I say, the carob tree will prove it. The carob tree was uprooted from its place and moved over one hundred cubits. There were those who said four hundred cubits. They said to him: One does not bring proof from a carob tree. He returned and said to them: If the law is like I say, the river will prove it. The water flowed backwards. They said to him: One does not bring proof from a river. He returned and said to them: If the law is like I say, the walls of the house of learning will prove it. The walls of the house of learning began to shake. Rebbi Yehoshua got angry at them and said: The scholars argue amongst themselves with regard to understanding the law, why are you getting involved!? The walls did not fall because of honor for Rebbi Yehoshua and the walls did not straighten because of honor for Rebbi Eliezar, and they still are slanted and stand. He returned and said: If the halacha is like my opinion, the heavens will prove it. A Divine voice from heaven was heard saying:
“What is your problem with Rebbi Eliezar, the halacha is like him in all cases?”
Rebbi Yehoshua stood on his feet and said: ‘It is not in the heaven.’
What does it mean; ‘It is not in the heaven’ (Devarim 30)?
Rebbi Yirmiah said: We don’t listen to the Divine voice from heaven, as it is written on Mount Sinai in the Torah (Sh’mot 23) ‘After many to incline.’ Rebbi Natan met Elijah the prophet. He said to him: What was God doing at that time? He said to him: Your life. “My sons have defeated me”
(Baba Mezia 59)
In this story, we learn that if there is a question concerning the Divine law the answer is always found by discussion between the Holy scholars. There is no doubt the information that is accessible to all and the law is set in this way alone. God himself confirms a decision concerning Torah Law is based on humanreasoning, Divinely inspired. This information is clear and accessible for all.
Thus the Talmud concludes by God saying ““My sons have defeated me”
God tried to test the sages and see if they would follow the law. That a question of law is decided according to the majority.
NOT BY MIRACLES
The sages passed the test !

UPDATED AUGUST 21 2014
Last week we learned that it is essential to conduct oneself in a holy manner during sexual relations as by it’s nature will be conceived such and such a soul and it will be given. When one gives birth to a child they bring down the soul and a part of their own soul joins with that child’s soul as a “garment” to it.
Now lets continue with the text of the Tanya :
Each of these three aspects and levels, Nefesh, Ruach and Neshamah, consists of ten aspects corresponding to the Ten Supernal Sefirot from where they descend. The sefirot are of 2 aspects 3 mothers and 7 doubles It is explained the 3 mothers are “Chochmah” (wisdom-creativity), “Binah” (understanding) and “Dat” (knowledge) and the seven doubles are powers of the “seven days of Creation”: Chesed (“kindness”), Gevurah (“severity”), Tiferet (“beauty”), and so on, the other four being: Netzach (“endurance”), Hod (“splendor”), Yesod (“foundation”), and Malchut (“royalty”). So, too, the human soul ; is of two aspects. The intellect includes three intellectual powers Chochmah (wisdom-creativity), Binah (understanding) and Daat (Knowledge), while the seven lower sefirot are energy of the emotional powers of one’s soul allowing one to achieve the : love of God, dread and awe of Him, glorification of Him, and so forth. The first 3 sefirot called “mothers” are the source of the lower sefirot called 7 doubles.
Nefesh, Ruach and Neshamah are levels Levels of the Soul- In the Bible in its original language “Hebrew” the Soul is called by 5 names.

The Yachidah is the highest level, at this level all souls are unified. It shall be this level the Messiah shall attain.

The first 3 sefirot are called the 3 mothers they are the source of the other seven Sefirot. The 3 sefirot called mothers are powers of intellect of the soul. The seven “doubles” are sefirot of the emotional attributes of the soul. These sefirot manifest in a twofold manner being of flow or restriction of the flow of each of these 7 sefirot’s particular quality,.so they are called 7 doubles. There are 7 “double” letters are vessels for transmitting of the energy of these 7 sefirot. These letters are called the 7 doubles :
