The “devil face” that many saw in the billowing smoke within seconds after Flight 175 smashed into the South Tower was almost certainly not Photoshopped . It is there, fully visible in the AP photo above, as well as on the CNN feed archived on ­YouTube, hovering below the point of impact, around the 70th floor. Also helpful in amplifying the effect is to listen to George W. Bush’s address that night, in which he said, “Today our nation saw evil.”

I immediately raised my digital Olympus E-10 camera and took the first photo. THE photo. It was 9:04 am.

The rest of the day seems surreal now. Bits and pieces stand out over the 15 years. Sitting in front of the laptop sending images of the Twin Towers looking like two chimneys in lower Manhattan, the dust cloud after the buildings collapsed, the intense sorrow when the realization hit of how many people died, the intense relief at the sound of military jets over the city…..I could keep going on.

The one thing I will always be most grateful for is sitting with my wife and daughter late that night having a slice of pizza. So many lives were inextricably changed that day in horrible ways. The fact that we were together and safe washed over me at the end of our Day of Infamy.

The biblical prophesies span all of time, one must be able to distinguish the parts that apply to a given situation

from that which has already passed.

“Gather yourselves together, gather together, O undesired nation ! (this refers to the Palestinians) Before the decree is brought forth, before the day when you pass away like chaff, before the fierce anger of yhv”h comes upon you, before the day of yhv”h’s anger comes upon you. Seek yhv”h, all you humble of the earth, who have performed his judgment; seek righteousness, seek humility; it may be that you shall be hidden in the day of the anger of yhv”h . For Gaza shall be forsaken , and Ashkelon shall be a desolation; they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.

(Ashkelon shall be a desolation, they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day is describing a time past when Ashkelon, Ashdod and were the oldest and largest seaports in Canaan. Ekron was a Palestinian border town. These are three of the “five cities” of the Palestinians. According to the Book of Nehemiah, the Ashdodites seem to represent the whole nation of the Palestinians in the sixth century BCE. Yet to a certain extent Judgement is falling on Ashkelon and Ashdod as rockets.)

Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Kherethites! The word of yhv”h is against you; O Canaan, land of the Palestinians, I will destroy you, so that there shall be no inhabitant. And the sea coast shall be pastures and meadows for shepherds, and folds for flocks. And it shall be an allotment for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed there; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for yhv”h elohahe”m shall remember them, and restore their dwelling.” (Zephaniah 2:1-7)

“Nation of the Cherethites” refers to the Palestinians in general. Similarly, Ezek. xxv. 16 and xxx. The Ashkelon here refers to the Ashkelon of Israel today. They shall be comforted by Hashem.

“Thus says yhv”h; For three transgressions of Gaza, I will turn away its punishment, but for the fourth I will not turn away its punishment; because they carried away into exile a complete captivity, to deliver them to Edom. But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, which shall devour its palaces; And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Palestinians shall perish, says yhv”h God. (Amos 1:6-8) Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron shall see that her expectation has been confounded; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.”

As we continue reading this prophesy of Zacharia we clearly see it is concerning the times of the messiah

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, your King comes to you; he is just, and victorious; humble and riding on an Donkey, on a colt the foal of an Donkey. And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off; and he shall speak peace to the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant I have sent forth your prisoners out of the pit where there is no water. Return to the fortress, you prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double;”(Zachahria 9-12)

The Radak says people will rejoice when Hashem remembers Zion and Jerusalem. It will be the head of governments. ” cut off the chariot of Efriam ” refers to the fact that the government in Israel will be no longer divided.  The “blood of your covenant” referred to here is the merit of the mitzvah of circumcision in exile which helps raise Messiah in His righteousness, and the community of Israel. The Metsudat Zion says the description of “double promise” is describing its doubled nature. “humble and riding on a donkey” The Zohar tells us the donkey here is the nations of the world.1

The Messiah on a donkey represents the begging of the revelation of the redemption will take place in a natural Physical way. As Donkey in Hebrew is the same letters as Physical.

Not long ago, a book came out written by Rabbi Baruch Shapira, zs’kl. During his lifetime, the Tzaddik was not well-known and was nistar (hidden). He resided in Maale Adumim and passed away about 15 years ago. Everything he wrote in the book are prophecies. In his sefer he writes mind-boggling details, written over 20 years ago.
He wrote that there will come a day when settlements in Gaza area will be evacuated and handed over to the enemy. He warns not to purchase homes in Ashdod and Ashkelon. He explains that these towns will be bombarded with missiles.

Many bloggers were quoting various Rabbanim in the recent months claiming predictions of a war that would begin during Chanuka. The most popular one was that of Reb Ari Goldwag of Geula Perspectives quoting Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita though later it was deleted when asked directly if the words attributed was actually said by the Rav.
Did Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita or Rabbi David Abuchazera Shlita of Naharia really did say a war would happen, and later denied it so it would not be publicized and create some sort of chillul HaShem? In any case, a war did begin on Chanuka and it has spread to the South of Israel including Ashdod, Ashkelon, Sderot, Ofakim, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Nachal Oz, etc. and its residents are sitting in shelters. A group of highly respected Torah scholars from Ashdod approched Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita last night and asked him for advice whether they should stay or leave the city. The Gaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita told them, “It is best to leave the city for a few days.” The group immediately returned to Ashdod, told others the reply they received from Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and are hurriedly packing up to leave the city of Ashdod. Also the Belzer and Gerrer yeshivot in Ashdod are temporarily closed.

Independent: Thousands had marched to the football stadium in downtown Conakry on Monday to protest against Guinea’s military junta. Nearly 160 people paid for that show of dissent with their lives, it emerged yesterday, some gunned down in a hail of bullets, other skewered by bayonets as they tried to flee or rescue the women being raped by soldiers in the stands.

As the full scale of the massacre became known, condemnation poured in from around the world. France, the country’s former colonial ruler, suspended military aid and the African Union threatened sanctions. The French also called an emergency EU meeting for today to discuss punishing those individuals behind the “savage and bloody” repression.

Citing hospital sources, Thierno Maadjou Sow, president of the Guinean Human Rights Organisation, told Reuters that at least 157 people had been killed and 1,253 injured in the violence. But, amid reports that the security forces had swept corpses from the streets, Mr Sow said that his organisation’s death toll only included those people whose bodies had been brought to the city’s overwhelmed hospitals.

There were also reports of soldiers using knives and bayonets to finish off those protesters who had dodged the bullets, as well as female demonstrators being raped and sexually assaulted. “They were raping women in broad daylight,” opposition activist Moctar Diallo told Radio France International. “Women were stripped naked. The soldiers were putting their rifles in the vaginas of these women … I saw this myself.”

מהותו (Divine essense). Love will

the “tzimzum” (contraction) of the light of

through you. You will not go from him
forever, but will remain in His image
in everything. You will be concieled from
men in the time of exile.  In the
future the world will be fortified by
the arousing of delight from the Nashamot

This flow is given to the world
according to the sparks raised and the
elevation of the worlds such as on
Shabot. It should be noted that when we
talk of the elevation of worlds we are
referring only to the vessels not the
עצמות (essence of lights) that are called
“nashamot”.4
The elevation revelation to the soul in
rising sparks and the supernal light
illuminating each accordingly so allowing one
to rise to the supernal palaces above,
palace by palace as there descends light by way of the sefirot. Illuminating the
palace “lavanot Ha Safir”, each person
receiving light according to their merit.

“yichus”(relationship). Rabbi Moshe Cordevero
in Sher Kuma explains “yichus”as one’s
personal relationship to the sefirot. There
are two levels of yichus. That which is
revealed, this is the advice of the

divine attributes as one’s own or distance
heaven forbid. The seal of “yichus” is
teferet which is balance upon bina divine understanding and chuchma divine creativity
inspiration. As the “yichus” to physical
desires are replaced with spiritual desires.
The “yichus” to physicality disappears from
our eyes as “yichus” to spiritual
attributes of malchut, ones actions, with
chuchmah and bina consume us. The
illumination of “yichus” of a sadeek (holy man) is
from above. He rules over the forms
that are below his point of “yichus”
through the name elokim, “hvyh” rules in
elokim changing providence.One who achieves the
understanding  that God is one, and there
is no other. He can force corporeality
upon the angels, and send them to do
his will. Providence “hagana” is directed
through “sachel Nifradim”  (angels) and
through these are directed spiritual powers
that are divine will which are made of thought involved in creation of the world
(such as Divine names ). All things of
(general) “Nahagot” (Divine guidance) are called Atzilut
(world of emanation). It is the Way of God Blessed is his
name and his desire to Guide his worlds
through man. So that God will be
known and recognized by his works. God
blessed is his name makes signs so that
man will know from them knowledge of God, and believe in emunah
(faith).  According to the Divine names worked is his work.
All this is called Olam Atzilut. All Changes are not in God, but are according to the recieving vessel.

HANUKAH PART 6-POWER OF REDEMPTION

It’s said by Rashi that Yaakov went back across the river to pick up the small bottles that were filled with oil for Chanukah that he had left there. It was when doing this that Yaakov came across the supernal angel of Edom (the west ), and he wrestled with him and won at Bait Ael which illudes to the place of the Holy temple. This shows us by the power of Chanukah we can concur  the exile of Edom. As yaakov did fulfilling the verse ” I will punish the Hosts on high “. The threat of Yaakov getting the Chanukah oil was enough to arouse the angel of Asev, Edom to attack him.

Another matter we need to look at is what it means to us that on Chanukah that Asev can only be defeated when Yosef is with Yehuda. Yehuda alone cannot defeat Asev. This brings us to explain Masiach ben Yosef and David. Yuhudah is the fulfillment of the letter of the law. Yosef is service of a personal nature, above that which is required. The god of the Greeks was a impersonal unreachable god. To them god was the unapproachable authority. By the service of Yosef one fulfills the words of the Torah “I shall dwell in your midst ” . This is how Yavan the exile of Edom is defeated.  One must fulfill the mitzvot regularly this is Yehuda, but not only this but in a beautiful way by this we will overcome the present exile. We see the blending of these two aspects in the mitzvah of the Chanukah manora.  As almost every one in Isreal fulfills the letter of the law of this mitzvah, being the aspect of Yehuda, yet in many homes even of those who claim to not be religious we find more than one manora lit this being the “hadar” above the letter of the law being the aspect of Yosef.

Whats going on

From this parsha we can learn many lessons. We are given to see that the ways of Hashem in fulfilling his will are hidden from our pitiful level of Consciousness. We also learn some of the mechanisms involving tikun (fixing of the world) and teshuva (repentance). We also see how Hashem returns sparks of light to their source in harmony.

We know that everything that happens in the world is only directed ultimately by the will of Hashem but much of this most people will never understand. As His way are not our ways and His thoughts are not as our thoughts. We certainly can not comprehend the awsome nature of the intricate workings with in the creation. One would have never thought that Yosef who was sold as a slave would end up running all of Egypt. But everything happens for a reason and that is so to eventually bring our Mashiach and redemption. This will bring the world to perfect harmony. To accomplish this everything must be brought  and set in its rightful place of order. To do this we have the process called tikun. We are in this world to make tikun as individuals but also to work on the tikun of our nation of Yisrael and the world as a whole. But this job is not left for us to work alone, but that Hashem through his providence is also making tikun in this world of His.

From the parsha we can get some instruction on how to understand and go about in this process of elevation called teshuva. If a person will do their part the Holy one Blessed is His name will do a corresponding action. As we know a action below is followed by a action above. From this process of action and reaction Hashem gives us many times what we need to do to bring our lives and all else back to proper order. He does this by creating a action in this world that can take many forms, but one most common as we see involved in the story of Yosef’s life is chastisement. The troubles and complications that come to make difficulties in our lives. As we see  regarding Yosefs brothers when they came to Egypt. We find Yosef acting harshly towards them accusing them of being spies and thieves. This persecution leads them to realize their faults saying “Hashem has found the inequity of His servents”   “We are guilty concerning our brother since we saw the anguish of his soul, and he called to us, but we would not hear. Becouse of this all this has come upon us” We see from these statements that the chastisement brought on Yosef’s brothers by him gets his brothers to feel sorrow for their deed and suffer for it, worry about it, feel shame, humility and ultimately realize that it was not just a coincidence or a random thing of nature that all the trouble befell them, but that these troubles were directed by Hashem becouse of their own deeds (with Yosef). And not only were these things brought on by Hashem but they were a measure for measure response to their own actions. This helps to explain why Benyamin was given 5 times more food then his other brothers as it was becouse of jealousy that the brothers brought their father a evil report concerning Yosef. Now Hashem through Yosef and Benyamin is giving them the opportunity to be in a similar situation but this time not become jealous. By this they partially heal the damage done to their souls.

All the steps mentioned above above from feeling sorry about their improper actions to realizing Hashem’s hand in all that happens are part of the process of teshuva as described in the book “Gates of Teshuva” and many other Holy works. Working with this process one can then by tesuva remove impurity and disorder and accordingly gain in purity and ultimately reach the state that is called Holiness where he has visions, dreams of prophesy and can understand them as they reach ruach ha Kodesh.

In the Beginning of our parsha Yosef tells pharoe what Hashem has told him pharoe’s dream means. In the same way that only Hashem knows the true meaning of a dream, we can see that only Hashem knows fully how the creation operates. It is for us to look around so to see the Holy ones signs  and symbols that will direct us to his path of truth so that we will ultimately see the redemption with the building of the Holy Temple with the Mashiach in Mercy quickly in our days.
