America is becoming politically more left it will not even support the Egyptian army crack down on the Muslim Brotherhood. The U.S. State department has decided to withhold funding promised to the Egyptian Military.
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration was criticized by an Egyptian government official Thursday in the wake of its decision to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and military aid in response to the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi and the crackdown by the military-backed government on his supporters.
“The decision was wrong. Egypt will not surrender to American pressure and is continuing its path towards democracy as set by the roadmap,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdelatty told an Egyptian radio station, according to Reuters.
The State Department announced the decision late Wednesday afternoon, after press reports emerged that an aid cut-off was imminent.
The U.S. provides $1.5 billion in aid each year to Egypt. While the State Department did not provide a dollar amount of what was being withheld, senior Senate leadership aides shared with Fox News some of the details of a conference call with staffers from the State Department and the office of the Secretary of Defense.
The U.S. is “holding” — as in not sending to Cairo — a dozen F-16s; a similar number of AH-64 Apache helicopters; four M-1/A-1 tank kits (tanks that are shipped in pieces and assembled in the receiving country); and an unspecified number of Harpoon missiles (typically an anti-ship missile).
Also, the U.S. is not proceeding with the planned transfer of $260 million in cash to the Egyptian government. However, these funds were already on hold pending the outcome of talks between the Egyptians and the International Monetary Fund.
The U.S. is also not proceeding with a $300 million loan guarantee slated as part of our foreign military financing programs.
As the State Department see the repression of the Muslim brotherhood and Islamic radicals as a affront to democracy.
Our sages tried to protect us by making many Rabbinical decrees to avoid closeness between Jews and non-Jews to prevent assimilation and forbidden relations. Unfortunately many Jews did not heed these calls, the God must help !
The Jews in America from the most recent pew survey shows assimilation and intermarriage at a rate of 72 percent. Where this information is presented in the Phoenix Jewish News it is presented with complete indifference, when it should be a “red flag”. Why is this ? Why do most American Jews show greater concern of knowledge of sports and comedy, then their heritage, the Torah ?
In Berlin before the Holocaust intermarriage was at 52 percent. When people look at the Jewish community of America the last thing people would think of is spirituality. The purpose of the exile to be a “ light to the nations ”, in America seems to have been abandoned by its Jews for “materialism”. How long will the God let the Jews of America promote Materialism and liberal immorality
One of the most extraordinary features of Barrack Obama’s victory over John McCain was his capture of 78% of the Jewish vote. To be sure, there was nothing extraordinary about the number itself. Since 1928, the average Jewish vote for the Democrat in presidential elections has been an amazing 75%—far higher than that of any other ethno-religious group.
Yet there were reasons to think that it would be different in 2008. The main one was Israel. Despite some slippage in concern for Israel among American Jews, most of them were still telling pollsters that their votes would be strongly influenced by the positions of the two candidates on the Jewish state. This being the case, Mr. McCain’s long history of sympathy with Israel should have given him a distinct advantage over Mr. Obama, whose own history consisted of associating with outright enemies of the Jewish state like the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and the historian Rashid Khalidi. Jews also remain far more heavily committed to the liberal agenda than any of their old ethno-religious New Deal partners. As the eminent sociologist Nathan Glazer has put it, “whatever the promptings of their economic interests,” Jews have consistently supported “increased government spending, expanded benefits to the poor and lower classes, greater regulations on business, and the power of organized labor.” When america can no longer afford its 108 million people on welfare and 47 million people on food stamps who will be blamed ?
As with these old political and economic questions, so with the newer issues being fought out in the culture wars today. On abortion, gay rights, school prayer, gun control and assisted suicide, the survey data show that Jews are by far the most liberal of any group in America.
Most American Jews sincerely believe that their liberalism, together with their commitment to the Democratic Party as its main political vehicle, stems from the teachings of Judaism and reflects the heritage of “Jewish values.” But if this theory were valid, the Orthodox would be the most liberal sector of the Jewish community. After all, it is they who are most familiar with the Jewish religious tradition and who shape their lives around its commandments.
Yet the Orthodox enclaves are the only Jewish neighborhoods where Republican candidates get any votes to speak of.
? If the U. S. will not support the Egyptian military’s struggle and present crack down against the Muslim brotherhood and other Islamic radicals, will they support the Jewish state of Israel’s next military struggle and crack down against the Muslim brotherhood in Israel called “Chamas” and other Islamic radicals when the next “intifada” by the Palestinians arises ? Or will America see Israel’s actions as “oppression” and a affront to democracy and democratic values ?
Will Jewish Americans turn their back on their Israeli brethren as “good Americans” in support of the American sacred cow called democracy?, even if democracy in the middle east leads to evil tyrannical Islamic regimes who brutally oppress all non Muslims and those who are not up to their “religious” standards, those who champion anti-Semitism. Will the call of “democracy” lead to the loss of American support for Israel since Israel, as the Egyptians needs to fight against the Muslim brotherhood in Israel called “Chamas” and other Islamic radicals in their midst ?
How long will the God let the Jews of America promote materialism and liberal immorality, instead of being a “Light to the nations”. What will be the future for Americans with dual Israeli/American citizenship when the policy of Israel is seen as a affront to democracy by the next Israeli military crack down against the Muslim brotherhood in Israel called “Chamas” and other Islamic radicals who are the majority of the “Palestinian” and Israeli Arab population ?
How well will the Jews of America fare when they are seen as supporters of a country who acts in opposition to American foreign policy ?
Time will tell ……………….
